Princess Maithili was a mysterious character and antagonist of PKYEK. She was shown as the beautiful 18th century princess of Pandher kingdom and was a love interest of Abhay Raichand when he was human. Loosely based on Katherina Petrova of Vampire Diaries.
Storyline[]
As a Human being and Princess[]
This story started with a person named Abhayendra, who was born in Pandher, a fictional village located in the state of Uttaranchal. The king of Pandher had a daughter named Princess Maithali. Abhayendra Singh was a 17 year old boy, who worked in the Pandher Palace's stable. Princess Maithali was the most beautiful Princess in her kingdom. Therefore, People came from distant places to catch a sight of her immense beauty. The king was very proud of his Daughter's beauty. He called Princes & Kings from different for Maithali's Marriage. Many princes & kings came but, Princess Maithali refused them all, for in her heart there was someone else whom she loved, but he was neither a king nor a prince, he was just a servant in Horses' stable of the Pandher kingdom, Abhayendra. There love grew hidden from the eyes of the King and everyone else. But there was one person who couldn't bear to see them happy together. It was Siddharth, Abhayendra's elder brother who was also in love with the princess. One day, he reported the king, and it was then that the king came to discover the forbidden love between Maithali & Abhayendra. The King couldn't bear this unacceptable with a mere servant. Whereas, the princess was ready to abandon her wealth & all the comforts of a palace. She was ready to go with Abhayendra and live a simple life. This situation drove the king crazy, and he separated the two of them. The princess was locked in her room & Abhayendra was sentenced to death and put in prison, she got him out of the prison and told him to run away. But, Abhayendra wasn't afraid to die for his love. And he didn't want to leave the princess behind all alone. But as Abhayendra kept insisting, the Princess promised him that she would come to meet him in the forest exactly at there regular spot of meeting. After that, he went away. When the king heard of this, he was furious. Since, he cared for his so called pride and honour, and he wanted to keep it well and maintain his status, he decided to kill Maithli. He locked Maithali inside her room & commanded the guards to set the room on fire. When Abhayendra came to know of it, he headed straight to the palace to save Maithali. While he was trying to save Maithali from the fire, Siddharth was also trying to do the same. Unfortunately, they all died in this terrible incident. Abhayendra, his brother & Princess Maithali, all of them apparently died in the 18th Century. But history merely recalls Abhayendra-Maithli and their pure love.
As a Vampire[]
While everyone was thinking that Maithili is dead , she was infact alive as a vampire. It was a major turning point in the serial . What actually happened is on that fateful night Sidharth (after being turned vampire by Chand and Haseena) returned to the place where he along Maithili and Abhayendra got burnt alive . After finding maithili dying from fire he bit her to turn her like him . He hid this from his new vampire family. For 200 years Maithili was hidden from everyone in the darkness of Jungle during which siddharth was disowned by his family for his extreme evilness and him not following the rules of Vampire Clan. In these 200 years he manipulated Maithili against Abhayendra that why he did not come after her to see if she was alive or not.
When sidharth took pia to a place where Maithili spent her childhood , Maithili suddenly appears from the dark . This is where sidharth reveals his true identity to piya . Maithili is now an evil vampire who can do anything for power. She is jealous of Piya as she replaced her in Abhay's heart. She wanted to drink pia's blood as she is her lookalike and that will give maithili extreme power. But her plan got failed as abhay came in and saved pia from her and killed siddharth. She slapped abhay twice and asked him why he stopped loving her ? to which abhay replied that he didn't love this Maithili infact he loved Maithili with a beautiful heart. Maithili then put ice slab on abhay's dead heart due to which he became trapped in an ice block from which only maithili or his true love can set him free.
As the story continues Maithili became more and more evil and continue to kill people. She also captivated/hypnotized Haseena Raichand causing her to kill 'T' and attack Misha and Piya. She eventually killed Panchi Dobriyal . She become obsessive for abhay and power. In the end she got killed by Vampire Clan by a stake.
